Tatiana Mitina

Tatiana was born and grew up in the former Soviet Union in a military officer’s family. The nomadic life experience that came with her father's profession led her to appreciate diversity in nature and in culture. As a child she equally admired the snow-covered magical lands of Siberia, the warmth and generosity of Ukraine, the busy grandeur of the country's capital and the multicultural mountainous regions of North Caucasus. She immigrated to the United States in 1989 and went to the wonderfully liberal State University of New York (SUNY) at New Paltz, from which she graduated in 2005. Presently, she spends her time creating refined, multilayered oil paintings and creating books for children and young adults.
