Kirsten Grind is an investigations reporter at The New York Times, where she focuses on billionaires and tech companies. Previously she was an enterprise reporter at The Wall Street Journal for a dozen years. Grind has won numerous awards for her work, and in 2025, was part of a team of reporters at the WSJ that was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for their work covering Elon Musk. She also received a Pulitzer Prize finalist citation for her coverage of the financial crisis. Her first book, The Lost Bank, about the biggest bank failure in U.S. history, was named the best investigative book of 2012 by the Investigative Reporters & Editors association. She is also the co-author of Happy At Any Cost, about the downfall of the beloved entrepreneur Tony Hsieh.
