Eliza Hawthorne

Eliza Hawthorne is a historian and true crime author with a relentless drive to uncover the mysteries that time has tried to erase. Specializing in unsolved crimes from the early 20th century, she resurrects forgotten cases with meticulous research, historical accuracy, and immersive storytelling. Each book in her Shadows of the Past series peels back the layers of history’s most perplexing disappearances and unsolved murders, giving readers a front-row seat to the intrigue, scandal, and unanswered questions that continue to haunt the past.

Eliza’s fascination with cold cases stems from her belief that history is never truly buried—it merely waits for the right person to bring it back into the light. She scours archives, unearths long-lost newspaper reports, and studies the societal undercurrents that shaped these cases, revealing how public perception, media sensationalism, and flawed investigations often determined the fate of those who vanished without a trace. Through her work, she not only revisits history’s mysteries but invites readers to step into the role of detective, examining the evidence and drawing their own conclusions.

A figure as enigmatic as the cases she investigates, Eliza prefers to let the stories speak for themselves. Her presence lingers in the background—like a shadow in the archives—seeking the voices that history has silenced. When she isn’t reconstructing the past, she can be found exploring forgotten crime scenes, sifting through dusty records in dimly lit libraries, and following the lingering whispers of unsolved cases.

If you are drawn to the dark corners of history, where fact and speculation intertwine and justice remains elusive, then step into the pages of Eliza Hawthorne’s Shadows of the Past series. The truth is waiting to be uncovered—but only if you dare to search for it.
