Oh wow! I'm speechless and in total awe of Adriana Locke after reading Written in the Scars. Did I like it? Yes, but "like" is a very weak word and not good enough to describe what I feel about it. I adored it, devoured it, craved it. This story totally consumed me in the best way. I felt so much and so deep! This is exactly what I'm looking for in a book and this amazingly talented author totally nailed it. I'm sure I will think about Ty's and Elin's story for a long time.
WITS is not only a second-chance love story. It's a story that makes you think and reflect on life, love, friendship and so much more. The characters were very well-written and I felt a strong connection to them. Their struggles were real and all I wanted for them was to find their way back to each other.
Elin and Ty Whitt were happy and in love since highschool. All they ever wanted was to marry and start a family together. Everything seemed perfect until reality hit them. Now they are only one step away from a divorce.
When Ty returns home after a few months, determined to safe his marriage and put his family back together, Elin is torn between her head and her heart. Deep down she knows that she still loves Ty - but will she ever be able to trust him again?
Life’s not always easy. Love’s not for the faint of heart. But with life comes lessons and Ty and Elin have the scars to prove it. But it's their love written in those scars that will hold them together or break them apart...
I don't want to give away too much of the plot. All I can say is that you need to read this story and experience it on your own. I went into it blind and was blown away from page one. The angst in the last 20% of the book took my breath away. I was anxiously turning the pages in order to find out how the story ends. I give you a fair warning: better prepare some tissues while you read this book. You will definitelly need them!
"Life does pack a punch. But it's the scars that make us who we are, that tell the story of the life we lived."
This book goes without a doubt straight on my top favorite reads of 2016 list. 5 stars!!!
