When Sloane’s parents cancel their holiday plans two days before Christmas he is invited to go home with his frat friend Micah and his sexy, brooding brother Hank. Hank and Sloane have had a frenemy going for the past few months but surely they will be able to be in the same house for a few days. Micah and Hank’s family is welcoming and open minded and Sloane feels at home immediately. Only Hank is his usual closed-off, remote self and although Sloane tells himself he doesn’t care he can’t help but be disappointed when it is Micah who kisses him under the mistletoe. And to his own surprise, Hank isn’t as unaffected by that kiss as he, a straight guy, expected to be.
I love all of Eli Easton’s books and this one as usual is the perfect combination of sexy, hot, sweet and with a great sense of humor. Just a wonderful Christmas novel. Read it!!

The bar for this years christmas shorts is set very high by this novella.

It was adorable, cute, funny, serious, a wee bit sad, heartwarming, entertaining, serious, and *fans some cooling air* in the end also damn hot. I'm not sure what I'm going to read after this one, maybe...this one again. I'm not yet ready to let them go and please, Eli Easton *insert puppy eyes here*, can we revisit them in a few years?

It's hard to root for a relationship where you have a serious dislike for one of both MCs, which is very much the case for me here. When the story starts, Hank already has a dislike for Sloane before even meeting him, but I don't feel I got a clear reason as to why. He gets a little better as the story goes on, while Sloane did not. Sloane was like a gnat or mosquito, determined to buzz around you until you want to kill him. He would intentionally follow Hank and flop down on his bed. He asked too many questions. I never actually got around to liking him, either.

Needs editing, the sex was not very hot, and whatever happened to Stan? Did he spontaneously combust? As for the plot, there was no dating, romance, or sweetness because these 2 constantly sparred verbally and purposely got on each other's nerves. They were like a pair of 12 year olds. And I really don't like reading a book where it's at least 60% into the book before we find out that the "straight" person was in denial or secretly repressing the fact that they were gay and had been for years. I could see hiding it from others, but why hide it from readers? Lastly, the epilogue, which seemed to be only a couple of days later, seemed hastily put together. And we don't get to see how the rest of the frat was going to treat him.

Why do I take so long to read the really good ones? I've seen so many people have about this book but never grabbed it. Now I'm mad at myself. This book was great. I loved the bickering between Sloane and Hank. It ramped up the tension so you knew that when they came together it would be electric.

I love Micah. What an awesome big brother. Even though I did get a little bit mad at him. But he was a genius. Setting Sloane and Hank up to plan the party was perfect.

Sloane's parents sucked but Micah was there to save the day. And even though Hank wasn't thrilled at first, we know it worked out for him in the end.

I really loved Micah and Hank's family. They were just what Sloane needed. But the best part about this book was seeing Hank come into himself little by little. Unwrapping Hank is the perfect title for this book. It really was like unwrapping a present. He turned out to be a pretty amazing guy. I'd love to see them turn up again someday.

5,0 von 5 SternenA sweet and unforgettable story

This was such a good book. I grew up outside of State College and attended Penn State University. That was the reason I bought the book because of the close ties with my school. I really like the way the story did a slow dance Gay boy meet straight boy, falls in love with straight boy but is afraid to show any feelings. Straight boy falls for Gay boy but is not ready yet to admit that he is gay too.
The towns and places in this story are real. I know because I've been there. I really really enjoy spending Christmas on the Springfield Farm and meeting the Amish neighbors. Once again, I too grew up on a farm and our neighbors were Amish. Hank's parents were great kind of like left over hippies from my own days in college many years ago. I like the way the author tells the book from different points of view sometimes I would forget if I was Hank or I was Sloane :-) something would always come up to remind me.

I truly would love a series of these books. Honestly, this was just the forward to what could be a wonderful life story with Hank and Sloan with Sloane becoming a country vet and the story of their lives in the Pennsylvania countryside. I can't think of anything that I would like better, the first book was that good! It only left me wanting more more and more.

The boys could take over the family farm and we could see what happens and be highly entertained when Sloane's parents come back to the US to visit their son and his lover and meet the Springfield s. There is so much here that could be told. If the author is reading this thank you for the gift of this book and please please please think about some follow-up books.

Sign me a brand-new and totally devoted fan.

5,0 von 5 SternenGreat GFY/First-time Gay story I couldn't wait to unwrap

Sloane is a freshman at Penn State and just finished fraternity rush, being accepted into an up-and-coming frat. He's openly gay, but not ostentatious, and never imagined being part of a frat, but was courted by the magnetic Micah--frat pres, and one of Sloane's TA's. Micah's attractive, sure, but he's straight. Unfortunately, Sloane is inexplicably drawn to Micah's burly, butch younger brother--Hank--who seems to have more than a particular dislike for Sloane.

Micah, ever the fence-mender, assigns joint chairmanship of the big Winter Party to Sloane and Hank. It's awkward and painful, for Sloane. He finds Hank attractive and rude, by design. Hank can't explain why he hates Sloane, but he's not happy with his brother's machinations and only agrees to this plan if Micah promises to never pair him and Sloane up again.

Their collaboration is spot on, the party a rousing success, and Hank relishes in the knowledge that he and Sloane won't spend any further time together, while he secretly, shamefully, acknowledges his growing attraction to Sloane. Hank doesn't want to be gay, and Sloane's cultured personality and general friendliness are too hard for Hank to accept; he can't wait for break so he can find some relief in absence.

A change in Christmas plans, however, has Micah inviting Sloane to spend the break on their family farm. Hanks beside himself, especially when he learns that Micah's not above experimenting with Sloane. The tension runs fast and furious, as Sloane, Micah and Hank learn to co-exist in the happy household. Their parents are over-the-top accommodating, and encouraging for their sons to find the happiness a loving relationship can bring.

This is not a ménage. This is a GFY (gay for you) first timer experience with a young man deeply conflicted about his sexuality. This is a really, really fun story, with such great heart, and such a lovingly constructed plot. The banter is d-lish, and the end is exactly as anyone could have hoped, with a fantastic smexytime that I absolutely could not wait to read.
