This was my first Diana Palmer book and I don't think I want to read another one. No offense, but her style is rather simple and the plot reminds me of a Hedwig Courths-Mahler story. The characters are too flat for my taste and the whole story is very foreseeable and doesn't hold any interest to me.

4,0 von 5 SternenIt’s Diana Palmer

You know what you’re getting when you read a book by Diana Palmer. The heroine will be poor and timid, young and virginal. The Hero is older, very intimidating, and cruel to the heroine because he’s been disappointed in love at some point in his life. It’s a formula, but for sone reason with DP it just works.
This book is actually better than a lot of her books. The hero has more good moments than bad. It’s not quite so melodramatic and over the top. The big misunderstanding is a little more genuine than usual, and the OW drama is kept to a minimum. If you are a DP fan, this definitely one of her better offerings.
I order this book, because I read it and love this author. I decided that I wanted one in better condition then the one that I have for my collection. This is about a family that the mother runs off and the father dies. So the oldest son feels that he has to take on the roll for protector for his younger sibling. They are very wealthy also. So he tries to make sure that one is dating them for their money. The younger brother is always dating women and buying them gifts. He falls in love with his sister girl friend, but he can't let her know, because he got asked to date this one girl to see what info he could get out of her. Her and her father were doing something illegal. They police felt that this was the only way to info. So he had to be mean to her, when he was really in love with her and was planning to court her. She was in love with him for years and she felt that he hated her, because of the way he treated her. So the younger brother and her decided to help each other out. She would pretend to be seeing him, so that he could see this girl and it would also make the brother jealous. So what they would do is he would pick her up like a date and drop her off somewhere while he would meet this girl. Well his brother followed him one and saw for himself what was going on. The older brother's name was Boon. The girls name is Keely. Boon went in and got her to tell him what was going on. Now Boon has a bad temper and when his is mad he doesn't listen to reasoning. He decided to hire a detective and get pictures of his brother. When he received the pictures they were of his brother and this girl having sex, but the face was the face of Keely. He then gets mad and shows Keely the pictures. Keely tries to tell him that its not her. She has this secret that she doesn't let anyone know. She tries to tell him why and he doesn't want to listen. She goes to undo her shirt, but he thinks that she is trying to seduce him and throws her out of his house. She then gets bit by a snake and ends up in the hospital. He then finds out what she was trying to do, when he gets to the hospital and sees her shoulder. An anima had attacked her and she has a big scare. All sorts of things happen and they do fall in love.
Boon to get caught ..,. Worth the wait! Sorry thought I did this weeks ago.I enjoyed this one very much I've never read a Palmer book that I haven't enjoyed. There are a couple antholgiys that I'd like sent to my home address but Amazon doesn't offer that option.oops messed up I'll try again another day
I am a fan of Ms Palmer so I have read many of her long tall Texans books. It comforting to revisit old characters marry off another one and wonder how the next book will unfold. These characters are just fun to visit with and the back story is definitely different
1,0 von 5 SternenThe female is no better. She's always in love with her best friends ...

I hesitate to even give this book one star but since that's the lowest rating available... this book was awful. EVERY DP book is the same. The man is a woman hater who can't get over himself and move on with his life. He constantly berates, talks down to and verbally abuses the female. The female is no better. She's always in love with her best friends brother or her boss, she lets herself be a door mat and be treated like crap yet she still has feelings for an abusive man. I'm beginning to think that DP is a woman hater as well who holds a very low opinion of liberated, free thinking women. Save yourself the money and find a different author to read.
