Über diesen Titel

An even feistier American. A wickedly hot Scot. Passion ignites.

Calli Douglas has avoided romance for five years, bound by a promise she never should've made to a man she doesn't love. Now, he refuses to let her go. When she leaves her backwoods hideaway to attend her cousin's wedding, Calli has no intention of meeting a man. But fate has other plans - in the form of one scorching-hot Scotsman.

Aidan "Don Juan" MacTaggart is the living embodiment of carnal pleasure and seductive prowess, but he longs for love and commitment. The moment he sets eyes on Calli, the stunning American captivates him. Though she's sworn off sex and romance, unraveling the mystery of why tantalizes Aidan almost as much as her sensual curves.

As their passion for each other inspires them to explore their steamiest desires, a deeper bond takes root. But when secrets from both their pasts threaten their happiness, they must confront their fears or lose everything.

I'm usually not a fan of the virgin trope but this story made it so much fun. I probably wouldn't have picked this book as a standalone. But I loved the first book in the series, so I got the second. It's very different from the first but that's a good thing as well. You don't want carbon copies, after all. The characters were unique, as was the story. And it was fun all the way through. I loved the way the virgin trope was written in such a different way to the usual formula of the shy, demure wall flower. This time, the FMC was confident, quirky and still had a healthy attitude towards sexuality. To me, that made all the difference. I loved the way the instalove built up so naturally that it never felt immature or contrived, either. And the MMC was super loveable but still extremely sexy. I also liked the supporting characters, the brother and sister of the two MCs and am hoping their story will be in the series, too, because I'm planning to work my way through the entire series. I really love the author's style so much!
The one thing I wasn't completely happy with, especially after listening to book 1 with a different narrator, was that the MMC's voice sounded pressed and the recording had a slightly tinny quality to it. But that wasn't terrible, I just noticed it more because I listened to book 1 and 2 back to back.

I hate virgin trope BUT...
