All Roads Lead to Sovereign Mountain
Set in the rural beauty of northern Montana, Westin delves into the tumultuous love story of Westin Quinn and Diane Carter.
Diane has lived on Carter Farms for her entire life. Raised by her grandmother, she learned to be strong, smart, and independent.
But after her grandmother’s death, Diane finds herself stuck in a tedious existence, under the thumb of her bitter brother, David.
All that changes when a cowboy from Sovereign Mountain, the biggest and most infamous ranch around, shows up.
He’s dangerous and forbidden. And he pulls her into a whirlwind, scorching hot romance that’s doomed from the start.
But when faced with the possibility of losing the family farm, Diane is forced to give up the one thing she wants most—freedom to choose her own destiny.
She’s not as alone as she thinks, because Westin Quinn, the cowboy from Sovereign Mountain, never moved on.
And he’s getting his girl back.
Westin is a dark, cowboy romance with heavy themes and content suitable for adults only. TWs are provided on the author's site.
©2024 Raya Morris Edwards (P)2024 Dreamscape MediaWestin turned out to be a much more likable MMC than Gerard Sovereign. He’s a 36-year-old gunslinger with layers—rough around the edges, but with a genuine desire to become a better man, dreaming of a good wife, a home, and peace. Diane, the 21-year-old heroine, was easy to root for from the very beginning. She’s sassy, strong, and lonely, enduring a harsh life under her brother’s control after losing her grandmother.
I loved the old western atmosphere and the vivid descriptions—the backdrops, the smells, and the gritty feel of the land all came alive. The way Westin and Diane met and slowly fell for each other felt natural and classic, and Westin’s gentle way of romancing her really stood out. The Yellowstone vibes were strong, especially with the morally dark undertones and the “train station” energy that gave it that rugged edge.
The BDSM aspect, while not as dominant as in the first book, still isn’t really my thing. It showed up more toward the end (around their wedding), where I would’ve preferred a softer tone. That said, I loved that the wedding was placed in the middle of the story rather than just as an epilogue—it made their relationship feel more real and developed.
Overall, this was a satisfying, fast-paced, and very spicy read. The narrators, Jack Callihan and Hannah Chiclana, did an excellent job and really elevated the entire audiobook experienc
