Lightweighting enemies to lovers story
Audiobook in duett narration 🫶😍
I liked the story and was instantly invested. The
characters were likeable, the description of the world and the magic was nicely delivered. You definitely get a slow burn enemies to lovers plot with some steamy chapter❤️🔥. The twist at the end of the story got me clenching my teeth. I'm on for book two.
For the audiobook: the duett narration is really good delivered, I felt the chemistry between the two MCs. the FMC narration was pleasant.
Aaron Shedlock is one of my favourite narrators (Nocticadia) and he delivers the hot book boyfriend vibes so well.

That cliffhanger though
As a vibe reader, the cliffhanger had me wanting to choke a bish. But on a whole, Veiled Kingdom was a great first book to a hopefully good series. I appreciate the decision of having the voice actors always narrate the male and female characters as it added a better layer of the characters and made conversations more enjoyable to listen to. Also, Aaron continues to make the male characters come to life. It was my first time hearing Aubrey but she did a good job of acting out how the character was supposed to be speaking which I thought was well done.
I am a bit over the idea that a person can be so distracting that other characters just lose their brains over them but I guess that's what lust gives you. The progression of the relationship was well paced and we didn't just jump headfirst into enemies becoming lovers in the first few chapters but I'm still so pissed at Dacre (seriously, can we have a character list in the review section. I'm so over having to look up how to spell the names) so that might change. We'll see in book two.
