Okay, das war mal wieder so ein Buch, welches ich mir als Hörbuch gegeben habe, um was Englisches auf den Ohren zu haben und huch, was war denn das?

Ich mochte die Grundidee der Story – mit den Menschenopfern und der Geschichte um die Mine, in der Arbeiter verschüttet waren und es Kannibalismus gab, um zu überleben. Ich mochte die Dämonen und einfach all das dunkle Gedöns. Mochte es, wie der Tod einem im Nacken saß und das ganz viel Liebe für Katzen ausgesprochen wurde. Nice. Nice.

Ich wusste ja, dass ich mich was mit Sex und Kink einlasse, aber wie kann es denn sein, dass in solchen Büchern die Protagonisten von solcher Lust überrollt werden, dass sie beim ersten Aufeinandertreffen schon kaum an sich halten können? Wie kann es sein, dass man nur noch mit Vulva oder Penis denkt?
Und ist es „normal“ einen hotten Menschen zu sehen und mit ihm Sex haben zu wollen?
Ich versteh diesen ganzen Shit nicht omg. xD

Also ja, Sex und so alles gut, aber was mir halt auf die Nerven geht, ist, dass permanent nur daran gedacht wird, wie man die andere Person f*cken und zum schreien bringen will. Ich habe keine Ahnung, wo sich zwischen unseren Protagonisten die romantischen Gefühle aufgebaut haben, die waren einfach total da. Vielleicht werden die ja auch durch Geschlechtsverkehr übertragen (wie ne Krankheit), I don’t know.
Ich glaube, ich hätte unsere Protas mehr gemocht, hätten sie nicht nur mit ihren Geschlechtsteilen gedacht.

Was ich cool fand, war, dass explizit gesagt wurde, dass ALLE Dämonen mindestens Bisexuell sind. Was ich dann aber wieder traurig finde, ist ... das alle Prota-Pärchen in der Trilogie scheinbar Mann x Frau sind... was soll das? Ich fühle mich betrogen >-<

Rae ging mir ziemlich auf die Nerven. Seit Jahren ist so ein Junki,e was übernatürliche Sachen angeht und Geistererscheinungen etc ... aber sie hat von nichts nen Plan und ist so „what, what, what?!“ ... ihre Vorkehrungen sind der reinste Witz. Sie ist so naiv und dümmlich, dass es wehtut. Irgendwie ein totaler Klischee FMC, der nichts auf die Reihe kriegt. Einfach voll lost und sassy und dann aber halb am sterben und lernt nicht aus ihren Entscheidungen.

Leon ... ja, eben ein Dämon, der irgendwie mit seinem Schwanz denkt. Wenn er sich von Rae verraten (und ich meine wirklich verraten) fühlt und das passiert, was ihn eigentlich voll traumatisiert hat, dann ist das Erste, was er will, sie zu f*cken (natürlich mit consent – was ich dem Buch hoch anrechne) und zum schreien zu bringen. Das ist halt das punishment, ne? #dickenergy

Ich hätte ja schon Lust auf ein härteres kinky Buch, aber dann bitte ohne das ganze weinerliche Gedöns drum herum und mit Personen, die auch noch mit ihrem Gehirn verankert sind. *sigh*

Englisches Hörbuch:
Die Sprecher fand ich sehr gut – man konnte sie auch als nicht Muttersprachler super verstehen <3

Okay, this was another one of those books that I listened to as an audio book in order to have something English on my ears and oops, what was that?

I liked the basic idea of the story - with the human sacrifices and the story about the mine where workers were trapped and there was cannibalism to survive. I liked the demons and just all the dark stuff. I liked how death was breathing down your neck and there was a lot of love for cats. Nice. Nice.

I knew I was getting into something with sex and kink, but how can it be that in such books the protagonists are overrun by such lust that they can hardly hold on to themselves at the first encounter? How can it be that people only think with the vulva or the penis?
And is it „normal“ to see a hot person and immediately want to have sex with them?
I don’t understand any of this shit omg. xD

So yes, sex and all that is good, but what gets on my nerves is that all they think about is how to f*ck the other person and make them scream. I have no idea where the romantic feelings built up between our protagonists, they were just there all of a sudden. Maybe they are passed on through sex (like a disease), I don’t know.
I think I would have liked our protagonists more if they hadn’t just thought with their genitals.

What I found cool was that it was explicitly stated that ALL demons are at least bisexual. But then again what I find sad is ... that all the main character couples in the trilogy seem to be man x woman.... what’s the point? I feel betrayed >-<

Rae got on my nerves a lot. For years she’s been such a junkie when it comes to supernatural stuff and ghosts etc. ... but she doesn’t know anything about anything and she’s like „what, what, what?!“ ... her arrangements are a joke. She is so naive and stupid it hurts. Kind of a total cliché FMC who can’t get anything together. Just fully lost and sassy and then half dying and not learning from her decisions.
Leon ... yes, just a demon who somehow thinks with his dick. When he feels betrayed (and I mean really betrayed) by Rae and the thing that traumatised him happens, the first thing he wants to do is f*ck her (with consent, of course - which I give the book credit for) and make her scream. That’s punishment, isn’t it? #dickenergy

I would like a harder kinky book, but then please without all the whiny fuss around it and with characters who are also connected to their brain. *sigh*

English audio book: I found the narrators very good - you could understand them super well even as a non-native speaker <3

A new favorite book! Highly recommend!

I loved this book! Every single thing about it was perfection. The characters, the action, the narrators of the audiobook, especially the male narrator, and of course the romance!! 🤤😍

I'm not gonna lie, the romance was my favorite part and boy did this book delivered. 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️😈
I was sooo sexy and smuty but still consensual. I loved Leon as a character. This book has a lot of kinky sex and high steam scenes and if you're a fen of that, you should absolutely pick it up.

Still there were sweet and romantic scenes that just made me swoon. Also there is a cat named Cheesecake. 😍

I'm obsessed with those demons and I can't wait to continue with the sequel.

Story ist nicht schlecht, wobei der Dämon eigentlich super schwach ist. Wer auf kinks steht, hat auf jeden Fall genug davon. Lenkt allerdings sehr von der Story ab. Irgendwie wird die „Gefahr“ nicht deutlich.
Und es fehlt komplett die Erklärung für diesen „God“ usw.
Die Sprecher übertreiben total in Betonung und Aussprache, fand ich nicht so angenehm.
Hör nur englische Audiobooks und das war eines der schlechteren.

Im making my fiance read this.

First of all, i loved it.

This is more of a kinky sexroman with fantasy than a kinky fantasyroman with sex and its definitely not for the vanilla loving people. And im not mad about it.
I enjoyed every second.
Its really mostly for the kink lovers out there.
Im always a bit sad about the english formats of the audiobooks, since i mostly listen to them in german. I dont know if its because the english audibke quality is not the best or its because of the voiceactors, i dont know.
The story is really but really feels pushed into the background when its mostly about how they turn eachother on and act it out. But it's a nice story if you can pay attention to it.

I loved Rae since she made me feel included into a book based of her described looks. We need more alt/gothic girlies!

All in all as said i enjoyed it, even tho i dont know if ill get the 2nd one since its really not that story based.

Haunting and captivating

Read the Trigger warning, I you ok with them you should enjoy this book very much. It was very kinky but also the story around the love story is on point.
Love me some cuthulluesque atmosphere!!!! The male voice is 🔥🔥🔥 the female voice gets better .. Really!!!

Do not recommend!

The nasal, annoyingly monotonous voice of the female narrator is grating.
I had to switch back to reading the physical book every time Rea’s chapters came up because I just couldn’t stand listening to her!

The male narrator is good.
