What it is about?
Genevieve is looking for people that share her magical abilities. She finds a letter from her mother’s childhood friend and makes her way to the Silver estate. The Silver siblings are immortal and bound to play a deadly version of hide and seek every year. The winner is free for the next year, but everyone else has to serve a devil named Knox in Hell for that timespan. It’s Genevieve’s bad luck that she arrives on the exact day on which the annual Hunt begins. Once entered Enchantra, there are only 2 ways out of this game: win and live or go straight to hell… literally.
Like Phantasma, Enchantra has a smooth, fast-paced writing style that makes it easy to binge.
I liked the setting in this old, huge mansion with hidden passageways and a labyrinth in the garden. And the idea of a deadly version of hide and seek, though I think there wasn't much diversity in this game. Each round felt very similar.
The FMC Genevieve annoyed me a lot at the beginning. She comes across as arrogant and picky. But she ended up being a good character in my opinion. I absolutely loved the MMC Rowin! He’s so cheeky, yet protective. And the banter between these two had me chuckling several times.
One of my favourite side characters was Sevin! I wouldn't be mad if he was the MMC in one of the other books of the series.
I also appreciate good villains and I think Knox was great.
Everyone of the Silver siblings has a familiar and Rowin’s fox Umbra has my heart.
It’s advertised as enemies-to-lovers, but I’d say it’s more reluctant allies-to-lovers.
I loved the ending and it was the perfect set up for more books in this series. I really enjoyed Enchantra, just not as much as Phantasma, but I can't wait to continue with the series.
I listened to the audiobook and Laura Horowitz might be my absolute favourite female narrator. She does such an amazing job, really drags you into the story. 😍
