The book is spicy and captivating, and I'm excited to listen to book 2! :)

this is one of my all-time favorite books ♡ I love the slow burn of the series.
C.S Pacat takes time to introduce important characters, the world and the differences between cultures. you get a good understanding for her complex characters and the first book is a perfect set up for what's to come ~☆

Die Bücher rund um Damen und Laurent gehören mit zu meinen Lieblingsbüchern, deswegen würde es Zeit es endlich als Hörbuch zu hören.
Die Geschichte selbst ist immer noch Klasse, nur mit dem Sprecher konnte ich einfach nicht warm werden. Sein Ton ist mir etwas zu sehr von oben herab und er verschluckt mir zu oft die Endungen der Wörter, so das ich mich immer genau auf das Gesprochene konzentrieren musste um nichts zu verpassen. Gut das ich die Geschichte schon kannte

I just started to listen to this story because it was repeatedly recommended to me. It was a quick listen, not boring. Still, I am waiting for the story to really begin. At the moment I am asking myself what all the praise is about. But I am intrigued enough to continue listening. The narrator has a good voice as well as pronunciation. It's relaxing to listen.

It took me two days to finish this audiobook and it was amazing! Often times stories about intrigues are dry but this one had good pacing at all times. The main and even side characters are all well-written and interesting. The narrator has a very unique voice that took me a few chapters of getting used to but I eventually realized how well it fits with the whole setting of this story. I'm definitely going to buy the second book immediately.

Can't wait to hear more
