I was so curious about Niall after his brief appearance in Beautiful Beloved—and the moment I found out Jonathan R. Cole narrated him again (like in Beautiful Stranger), it was an instant yes. Total swoon.

Niall is the complete opposite of his brother Max. Just as hot, with that sexy Northern British accent and quiet charm—but instead of being smooth and outgoing, he’s an uptight, nerdy, hyper-cautious overthinker. A refreshing twist from the typical alpha male. He’s vulnerable, emotionally guarded, and still carrying the weight of his divorce. But he’s also incredibly tender, respectful, and such a gentleman.

Ruby was adorable—a little goofy, completely unfiltered, and secretly in love with Niall for months. She brought so much warmth and light to the story. Her confidence, patience, and openness were the perfect balance to Niall’s slow, methodical nature.

This was definitely the slowest burn of the series. Sometimes Niall’s overthinking was frustrating, but it gave his character real depth. And while this book wasn’t as spicy as the others, it was unexpectedly funny and sweet in all the right places.

The narration? Fantastic. Jonathan R. Cole delivered Niall’s inner monologues with such emotion and nuance, and Charlotte Penfield was a great match for Ruby’s vibrant personality. Their voices complemented each other beautifully.

All in all, a cute, character-driven romance with a swoony narrator and a refreshingly soft MMC. If you’re doing the audiobooks—this one is a must.
