The novel is about a thick beautiful black woman who falls in love with a muscular military white man with an ugly face.
The best way to describe the writing style is casual. It feels like a woman telling her friends about the guy she met, how hot he is and how good he is in bed. It's fine for the genre.
There are at least 5 graphic s*x scenes which are narrated in detail. The same attention to detail is applied when it comes to describing food.
The narrator lady does her best with this material. Her voice, intonation and rythm seems to match with the main character. However to me she sounds bored and flat most of the time.
Overall I feel this audiobook could have been better with a six hours duration instead of eight. I struggled to finish listening to it.
It's fine to listen to while working out.
