This was my first audiobook on Amazon ever (it was a suggestion). I hesitated to get it -- I had been sceptical about Elizabeth Gilbert (even though I had never read anything by her) because I had once heard somewhere that Eat, Pray, Love was “annoying," and so I had a negative association to her. I got it anyway, and wow, was my mind changed. I loved this book! I loved the way Liz read it, I love her words and her spirit, her authenticity and most of all, her genuine positivity. I love that this is the first time I encountered her, through this book, because her writing really has improved so much since Eat, Pray, Love (I ended up getting that on audiobook, too. And who would have known--I didn't find it annoying in the least).
This whole experience has taught me more than anything else never to judge something or someone before you have gotten to know it. I cherish this book, and Ms. Gilbert as well, for humbling me in such a profound way. So thank you Audible, for this lovely suggestion, it's my favorite audiobook to date.
