Kate & the listener are deeply intertwined in this top secret mission to find the crazy scientist, who kidnappes random people, turning them into human weapons.

Jessica L.Webb has done a stunning job creating such an authentic, fast paced adrenalin filled page turner. The whole story is well structured from start to finish. We follow it through Kate's POV, which increses the feeling of being overrolled by this totally unexpected, deeply scaring scenario. I found it refreshing that the medical treatments are correct, easy explained but still not overloaded with jargon. The same goes for the ongoing police investigation process that later leads into a military extraction mission. From the whole setting it is clear that the police part together with the medical research takes the biggest chunk of the story. The instant attraction between Kate&Andy is plapable from their very first encounter. It lingers all the time like a slow burning flame and just gets a chance to flourish at the end, when the mission seems to be over.

Ruby Rivers and her voice talent have done a marvellous job with this incredibly action filled story. It is amazing how well she portrays Kate torn between scientific fascination, her strong wish as a doctor to save the victims and her confusion about her feelings for Andy. Andy is the powerful, analytic, never giving up kick-ass police officer trying to contain a highly explosive situation and also keeping Kate save. Listening to Ruby Rivers is like movie watching in your head, only better .

This has been my 2nd Audio Book from Bold Strokes Books this year and already it has become another big find and sky rocketed into my all time favourite list. I definetly will check out the other works of Jesscia Webb. Andy&Kate are such impressive heroines and their romance has just begun. Hope there is more about them to listen to soon!
