Anthony Trollope's classic novel centers on Mr. Harding, a clergyman of great personal integrity whose charitable income far exceeds the purpose for which it was intended. The Warden is the first of the six classic Chronicles of Barsetshire novels, Trollope's best-loved and most famous work.

7 hours of sheer pleasure

It is not only owing to the indisputable quality of this classic novel that the present recording is to be heartily recommended - the lively and inspired reading is equally to be praised. Simon Vance is recreating the characters as only an actor could be expected to do, his pleasant voice and beautiful clear diction, his fine hints of irony and ever changing timbres while he presents us with the different characters make for a reading that could not be equalled by any other medium. Don't miss this audiobook, it is really a treat !
