Great book, much recommended

With the exception of the mispronouncing of Dandelion's name (something that is rectified in the audiobooks after this one), the performance was exceptionally well done, consistent and engaging. The book itself is of course a classic and anybody with a moderate interest in fantasy novels should at least check out this first book to see if they might enjoy the series or the phenomenal games based on them.

I enjoyed this program (for the most part)

I preferred this audiobook over the netflix series. The book feels a lot slower paced, but more fleshed out and lets you ease your way into the Witcher kosmos, whereas the tv series - while I enjoyed that as well, being a massive fan of all Witcher content - seems somewhat rushed, uncoordinated and clumsy at times. I can recommend the books to anyone who likes the show or the games.

There were two things I didn‘t much enjoy about the audiobook:
- I had to put the book to a 0.8x speed (thank you so much, Audible, for that function) to make the narration feel natural.
- Geralt‘s Rivian accent wasn‘t to my liking. I know this is a subjective point, but I just couldn‘t really feel my way into the character, because of the way he was portrayed.

All the other voices were done splendidly for the most part, especially the monsters, and the narration voice was very nice, apart from the speed, which was already mentioned.

In conclusion: This is a good, but not a perfect audiobook version of The Last Wish. Thank you for reading this. (4/5).

Good but confusing order

Very well written aside from the fact yen is mentioned by Gerald before he’s ever met her in story order. Still love the stories.

Strange Performance, Decent Book

I truly enjoyed this collection of short stories, my main gripe is about the narration. The performance was uttered so rapidly throughout the book that I had to listen to the entire story at 0.75x playback speed. The different voices and accents were decent, and the characters were well portrayed. However, I cannot forgive the pronunciation of “Dandelion”, a common English word, as “Dan-dillion”.

This won’t stop me from listening to more of Kinney’s performances, because despite those errors it was enjoyable. However, for those more sensitive to these issues, perhaps reading the book would be preferable.

Atmospheric reading of a great story

The best narrator I've heard

The short-story format and the fantastic narrator make this an entertaining a captivating listen.

Good books don't always have good audio books, but the narrator of this one make it more of a one-man audio drama than a simple read-through of the text. He seamlessly switches between accents and personalities, which adds so much to the experience.

The format of the book itself is very episodic, so although the short stories do link together, there is concise beginning, middle and end to each arc, which makes the content both digestible and compact. This way of storytelling really helps to build the world around The Witcher in a way that traditional one-story novels don't. Because the stories are short, there aren't entire chapters of lore and backstory, rather the world and characters are presented within the context of the individual chapters.

What a ride

Nice narration, pulls you into the story but nothing to listen doing anything else of course. Accent of the Witcher very unusual but consistent
